The Oxford Blue

"The Oxford Blue is Oxford's first digital only student newspaper, founded with the aim of providing opportunities for students to develop their journalistic skills, regardless of background. It seeks to be accessible to all, especially those with no prior experience in journalism. The Blue produces daily content on its website, as well as a weekly podcast. In addition to its local and national reporting, the paper aims to provide perspective beyond Oxford with a section dedicated to world news. The paper’s Investigations Team goes beyond the daily headlines we report on, seeking out and researching stories it considers to be of significance to the student community. The Blue also focuses on individuality of our writers and hires columnists each term. We are a training newspaper, and have a collaborative editing process designed to provide both our editorial team and writers with practical journalistic experience. To facilitate this, we run masterclasses with professional journalists, open to all, to allow students to ask any questions about the field and hear from some of the most esteemed writers in the field."
