The aim of OXFAD (Oxford Fashion and Design Society) is making fashion and design accessible and fun, keeping in mind an ethos of sustainability. We want to lift up and highlight small designers and artists from underrepresented groups, focusing on how we can ensure that fashion is not allowed to continue being a world into which very few are admitted. Our events will focus around sustainability and slow fashion, we are hoping to hold clothes swaps and workshops to teach people to upcycle and make their own clothes. Finally, we want to override hype culture and the trends of logomania, which are aspects of fashion that contribute to its inaccessibility and environmental impact.
