Follow us:
Founded in 1936, we are the largest undergraduate mathematics society in the University of Oxford.
We may be the largest but we are not the only one: we would like to acknowledge the Mirzakhani society (https://www.mirzakhanisociety.org.uk/ and https://www.oxfordsu.org/get-involved/clubs-and-societies/join/25487/), who we often collaborate with. We host talks from expert speakers, inside and outside our own department, organise mathematics competitions internally and with other universities and run social events; we also have a magazine, the Invariant (whose 18th edition may be found here: https://www.invariants.org.uk/magazine/) and an annual competition where students are invited to write submissions, as well as puzzle-based competitions. Not only do we run talks from expert speakers in mathematics, but we appreciate our friends in computer science and are excited to present talks from speakers in the finance sector this Michaelmas: we also host talks from students (usually in Hilary) and host sip-and-solves. We welcome any mathematics student and would love to have you bolster our student community.
